Often the physically impaired can't make good use of standard automobiles. To fully function in everyday traffic, they often require custom-made modifications. Tripod Car Conversions was founded in 1980. A staff of 25 enthusiastic and well-trained workers apply their extensive knowledge and experience to custom-tailor each car to the wishes of the user.

An important specialty of Tripod's is the conversion of vans, SUV's and cars for wheelchair users in a passenger-situation. All other modifications are mostly custom-made, and could concern items like left foot throttle, manually controlled brake/throttle on the steering wheel or wheelchair transportation by use of a trunk lift.

All conversions that Tripod does are approved by the Dutch Department of Transportation, and therefore comply with the European directives for safe transportation. On top of this, Tripod has an approved static test bed. So we can do the testing of many products, like for instance seat belts and wheelchair tie-down systems, ourselves.
